Mozambique Airlines (LAM) has reintroduced the passenger assistance service on the ground, which will be available, initially, at Maputo International Airport, and is expected to be expanded to the other stops where the company operates.
A note from the company indicates that the reintroduction of this service, “Care Team”, as it is known in aviation language, is part of a set of reforms underway in the company, after the intervention of Fly Modern Ark in the management of LAM, and aims to guide users of the various services at airports, which include arrival until check-in, as well as boarding and disembarking.
Meanwhile, on Friday, July 21, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Amilton Alissone, visited the team stationed at Maputo International Airport, and was pleased with the reintroduction of the Care Team. “LAM is in a process of reform and there is an understanding that its services are likely to improve. From what we could see, during the interaction with passengers, the service (Care Team) is greatly facilitating their movement within the airport,” said the governor.
Amilton Alissone considered the reintroduction of those services as “necessary” and that will make the company more competitive in the market. “Let’s all embrace this cause. The reform of our flagship company is an objective of the Government and a desire of all Mozambicans so that we have a more reliable, safe company that offers quality services at attractive costs,” he added.
In turn, the manager of the Care Team project, Neila Albuquerque, explained that the initiative aims to welcome and guide passengers comfortably inside airports.
“We have, for example, passengers who have never had the experience of flying and need to know how to check in or distinguish between economy and business class, have notions of priorities in service, in the case of the elderly, pregnant women, disabled people and other situations. The Care Team members are here precisely to provide this type of assistance and support,” he reiterated.
