LAM – Mozambique Air Lines, S.A., recently signed an agreement with Total E&P Mozambique Area 1, Limitada, operator of the Mozambique LNG project, for the provision of preferential air transport services within the national territory, specifically on the Maputo/Pemba/Afungi route and vice-versa.
The three-year contract, which came into effect on March 1st this year, reflects the principle of valorization of local content and, on the basis of the same, LAM will provide TOTAL with a Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
The understanding between the two companies came after a series of audits that the multinational company made to the airline to assess the degree of compliance with the requirements demanded of flight operators for projects of this nature.
The director general of LAM, João Carlos Pó Jorge, believes that this is an opportunity captured at cruising speed, with the particular relevance of projecting the company to high flights and allowing it to broaden its customer portfolio, now including a group whose profile is characterized by demographic diversity.
“It is with immense pride and reiterated commitment to quality that we join TOTAL in providing services of fundamental essence with regard to ensuring the rapid mobility of professionals who are involved in the realization of the gas project in the country,” said João Pó Jorge.
