The Arab-Mozambican Chamber of Commerce has launched a digital platform designed to facilitate business between Mozambican companies and their counterparts in Arab markets, providing access to verified suppliers and aiming to generate new trade and investment opportunities between Mozambique and Arab countries.
The platform offers a company directory with searchable records of verified and accredited members, guaranteeing the origin and quality of the products and services listed. Through this mechanism, it seeks to strengthen trust in commercial relationships established via the portal.
“It will provide access to a company directory with searchable records of verified and accredited member companies, guaranteeing the origin and quality of products and services,” said Sérgio Matos, president of the Arab-Mozambican Chamber of Commerce.
According to Matos, the portal will allow companies to identify certified suppliers, submit requests for quotation (RFQ), and establish commercial links between Mozambique and Arab countries. He said the platform would ease contact between businesses seeking to develop trade relationships.
“For sellers and exporters, this portal allows them to list their products on a B2B marketplace oriented towards exports, facilitating connections with qualified buyers and the digital issuance of certificates of origin,” Matos explained.
Secretary of State for Industry Custódia Paúnde said the initiative represents more than a simple digital tool. In her view, the portal was designed to facilitate partnerships between companies and investors in a secure and trusted environment.
“More than a digital platform, this chamber’s business portal was designed to be an environment of the utmost trust for all chamber members — a verified and secure B2B marketplace and a practical investment and trade facilitation desk,” Paúnde said.
Palestine’s ambassador to Mozambique, Fayez Jawad, highlighted the platform’s importance in enabling direct contact between investors and various sectors of activity, including trade, industry, agriculture, and other areas of investment.
“It is a very important idea, because this chamber will now have an essential platform to create direct contact between all investment sectors, whether in trade, agriculture, industry, or any other area of investment,” Jawad declared.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen economic relations between Mozambique and Arab countries, with the objective of expanding opportunities for national exporters, facilitating business partnerships, and attracting new investment into the country.
