Standard Bank Promotes Debate on Agri-Business in Nampula

Standard Bank promotes today, September 28th, the Nampula Agribusiness Forum, an event that aims to gather all agribusiness value chain actors in the province to debate around the business context and resulting opportunities for growth and increased competitiveness in the sector.

This is a forum that aims to discuss and highlight how the trade of agricultural products/commodities in Nampula in particular, and in the Northern Region in general, can stimulate a greater economic dynamics of broad base in the region and in the country.

Taking place under the theme “Trade of Agricultural Products/Commodities – Context and Opportunities with emphasis on the Northern Area of the Country”, the forum will also discuss the potential for domestic marketing and export of local production as well as its contribution to import substitution, increase in exports and the consequent positive impact on the trade balance.

According to a note from Standard Bank, the forum participants will reflect on how to maximize the production and marketing potential of the region in order to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the main value chains of agricultural products/commodities such as grains, oilseeds, cashew nuts, poultry and bananas.

“The forum will feature the participation of several speakers, individuals and companies linked to the agribusiness sector, in addition to experts from the Bank, which will present the solutions that Standard Bank has to support companies operating in the sector”, reads the document.
