The Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, defended Friday, during the ceremony of general director of the Mozambique Cereals Institute (ICM), Alfredo da Piedade Nampuio, replacing Momed Valá, the establishment of a bigger link between the production centres and the markets, through the promotion of commercialisation of the agricultural production surpluses.
According to Adriano Maleiane, “the entity should guarantee strategic reserves of cereals, pulses and oilseeds for food security, promote exports and stability of prices of agricultural products on the domestic market.
At the same session, the Prime Minister also swore in the Director General of Intellectual Property, Sheila Canda, to whom he reminded of her role in discouraging unfair practices in the market.
To the Commissioner-General for Expo 2025, Riduan Ismael and his deputy, Cândido Namburete, the Prime Minister challenged them to strengthen partnerships with different public-private sectors aiming at a good participation of the country in the event.
