Niassa province expects to produce more than 28 thousand tons of fish by the end of the year.
To achieve this challenge, several actions are underway, from stocking fish ponds to allocating inputs to artisanal fishermen.
At this moment the province has more than 12,000 artisanal fishermen from eight of Niassa’s 16 districts, namely Lago, Mecanhelas, Mecula, Mandimba, Mavago, Majune, Lichinga and Marrupa.
The delegate of the National Fisheries Administration in Niassa, Carlitos Mabote, is optimistic about the achievement of the planned goal, thanks to the work carried out by technicians.
