Manica: Agricultural Inputs to be Made Available to Four Thousand Farmers in Báruè

Around four thousand producers in the district of Báruè, in Manica, are receiving assistance with agricultural inputs from an agro-industrial company in that province, in central Mozambique, Rádio Moçambique (RM) reported on Monday, 8 January.

The agency explains that the assistance extends to the transport of products from the production fields to the market. The initiative aims to guarantee raw material for the production of maize flour, which is then sold on the national market.

According to the representative of the agro-industrial company, Jesus Sampaio, the strategy has had positive results for both producers and the industry.

The source revealed that for this year, the company intends to buy 26,000 tonnes of maize, compared to 18,000 tonnes last year, although for this to happen, production levels will have to be improved.
