ExportaMoz Solutions, a company dedicated to supporting business internationalisation, and the Mozambican Federation of Timber Operators (Fedemoma) signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to strengthen the competitiveness of the national timber sector, promote local processing, and drive the export of processed Mozambican wood.
The two organisations said the partnership aims to increase the added value of national forest resources by connecting Mozambican operators with international markets and strategic partners.
Under the agreement, the parties will work to identify new markets, structure investment initiatives, and prepare domestic companies to meet export requirements. The MOU also includes promotional activities targeting international buyers, with the goal of raising the sector's competitiveness and expanding the presence of Mozambican timber products in external markets.
Both entities maintain that the timber industry can play a significant role in diversifying Mozambique's exports, arguing that sectoral growth depends on local wood processing, improved company competitiveness, and the generation of greater added value from forest resources.
"More than a signing, this partnership represents a united effort to add value to national production, drive exports, and position Mozambican timber in global markets," the organisations said in a joint statement.
