The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, said it is essential to build appropriate infrastructure for the agricultural sector as a way of reducing the risks that plague the agricultural activity in the country.
The head of state defended the position, this Thursday, January 26, during a press conference that marked the end of his participation in the second Summit on Food in Africa.
In a way of balance, Filipe Nyusi said that very relevant issues related to the area of agriculture were addressed in the various meetings, and mechanisms to leverage the sector on the African continent were discussed.
“In the meetings, we talked a lot about building infrastructure for agriculture,” said the head of state, who made a positive assessment of his participation representing the country at the event.
The second edition of the Summit on Food in Africa, under the theme “Feeding Africa: Food Sovereignty and Resilience”, started last Wednesday, January 25, in Dakar, capital of Senegal, and ends today (27). It was jointly organized by the President of Senegal and Acting Chairperson of the African Union, Macky Sall, and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
At the event, the leaders discussed international partnerships, private sector development, financing and technologies for food systems.
