The Cereals Institute of Mozambique (ICM) participated in the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Exhibition, CAETE, in Kenya, to promote national products and seek investment partnerships.
According to the organisers, this is the first large-scale event that China is organising on the African continent and it is being held under the slogan ‘Joining hands for a better future’.
The fair welcomes exhibitors from the construction industry, machinery and equipment, commerce, logistics, medicine, food products and agriculture, among others.
Cereals, oilseeds and pulses are Mozambique’s showcase at this exhibition, where ICM aims to widen market access for exports of national production.
Mozambique’s intention is to use CAETE as a platform for establishing partnerships between Mozambican and Chinese entrepreneurs in economically strategic areas for the development of both countries.
Mozambique has the advantage of being the logistical gateway and connection with the Hinterland of the Southern African region, with more than 380 million consumers, and the African Free Trade Zone with 1.3 billion people.
The China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo is the largest platform for economic and trade co-operation within the framework of the China-Africa Co-operation Forum.
The Forum was set up to build a new mechanism for economic and trade co-operation, and to ensure the implementation of new economic and trade initiatives between China and the African continent.
