The province of Cabo Delgado officially launched, on Saturday (25), the 1st International Conference on Industrialization and Agribusiness (CIAGRO), an event scheduled to take place on June 18 and 19, 2026, in the city of Pemba, with the aim of boosting investment and revitalizing the local productive sector.
According to an official statement, during the launch ceremony, the provincial governor, Valige Tauabo, explained that the conference serves as a strategic platform to identify concrete investment opportunities, promote public-private partnerships, foster the creation of agro-industrial clusters, and encourage technological innovation.
He also highlighted the event’s importance in strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises and cooperatives, which are considered essential for sustainable economic development.
Cabo Delgado is identified as one of the regions with the greatest potential in Mozambique, benefiting from abundant natural resources, favorable conditions for agricultural activity, and a geostrategic location relevant to regional and international trade. In this context, the governor emphasized the need to transform available resources into wealth, generate employment, and ensure inclusive economic growth.
For his part, the provincial secretary of state, Fernando Bemane de Sousa, noted that CIAGRO represents a decisive step toward leveraging local resources, calling for the active involvement of all stakeholders to ensure the initiative’s success.
The organization plans to launch a digital platform in the coming days featuring detailed information about the event, as well as a registration system for interested participants.
