Agricultural Products Exports Generated US$92M Last Year

The Mozambican President said this Wednesday, April 12, that the country has collected, in the last two years, more than 92 million dollars, corresponding to more than 5.8 billion meticais, resulting from the exportation of agricultural products. The information was revealed during the launching of the 2023 agricultural marketing campaign, in Chiúta district, Tete province.

These are food and cash crops, such as cotton fiber, cashew nuts, macadamia nuts and boer beans, as well as the main fruits with the required quality in the agricultural commercialization chain.

According to Filipe Nyusi, “with this volume of exports achieved in the period in reference, the country is able to create new centers of aggregation and processing, with a close look to the northern provinces.

Meanwhile, about 36 thousand hectares of various crops were lost in 2022 in Mozambique due to rains and floods.
