Access Bank has recently launched the second edition of the ‘Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Mozambique 2022’ competition in Maputo, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and businesswomen.
The aim of the competition is to equip women with better financial and business skills so that their organisations can develop in a sustainable way.
The contest, which runs this September, is part of the ‘W Initiative’ project, focuses on female empowerment and will have as its main focus the dissemination of a training programme, consisting of workshop sections directed to the applicants, involving modules associated to entrepreneurship, finance, leadership, management and digital marketing.
For this edition, Mozambican women from all business sectors are eligible, aged between 18 and 55 years old, who have a company in operation, duly registered for at least one year, or who hold 20% shares of a company that has also been operating for at least one year.
The Access Bank representative, Virginia Muxlhanga, explained that, in order to apply, the competitors should, until September 15, fill in a registration form, available on the bank’s website or social networks.
“The programme comprises three phases, the first being the reception and selection of the top 150. In phase two we will ask companies to send videos describing their organisations and we will select the best 30 projects. Finally, in the third phase, we will deliver certificates to the 30 finalist companies and we will award a top 3, with financial subsidies”, informed Virginia Muxlhanga.
The ‘Womenpreneur Pitch-a-thon’ programme is the first initiative of its kind to support businesswomen in the banking sector.
